To solve the capital/investment problem for the ICT entrepreneurs and companies of the country, BASIS and IDLC have officially launched a complete financial service program called “IDLC Udbhabon”. A number of loan facilities will be offered under this program including loans for startups, short term loan, loan to buy domestic software or IT enable services and commercial space.
The program has been launched officially on Thursday by Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister of ICT Division at Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka while Naznin Sultana, the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank was present as Special Guest. Among others, BASIS President Shameem Ahsan, IDLC CEO and MD Selim R. F Hussain and BASIS Joint Secretary General Mostafizur Rahman Sohel spoke on the occasion.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak in his speech as the chief guest mentioned that new IT enterpreneurs and young entrepreneurs are facing challenges relating to capital/investment. To overcome the challenges, IDLC will facilitate the special interest loans for the BASIS member companies including startups loan, short term loan. Due to this, young entrepreneurs will be able to solve their equity problem to start their new businesses. BASIS always plays an instrumental role to facilitate the ICT entrepreneurs. This joint initiative of BASIS and IDLC will open the window of opportunity for a new generation.
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Naznin Sultana highlighted that, this is a very timely initiative for the growth of the ICT industry. She hoped that this financial service will surely contribute towards the development of the country’s economy. She also praised BASIS, as the leading association of Software & ICT companies and IDLC, a Financial Service provider to come forward together to grow ICT business in the country.
BASIS President Shameem Ahsan added that, under this program, IDLC will not only provide the financial services for ICT companies but also will refer it’s SME/corporate clients to BASIS if they wish to purchase any software. The client will get special discount in this way. Besides, IDLC will provide loans to the companies who wish to purchase software from the BASIS member companies. Due to this, domestic software sale will be increased and import will be discouraged. Above all, this will help the Software and ICT industry of the country to contribute to the GDP by 1% by 2018.
IDLC CEO and MD Selim R. F Hossain stated that, ‘IDLC Udbhabon’ will not only provide financial facilities to the ICT entrepreneurs, but also provide non-financial facilities. This will help the companies to grow more. We believe that this new service will play an important role for the development of the ICT industry of Bangladesh.
