Microsoft Day 2014 was celebrated on Saturday the 27th September at BCS Computer City, IDB Bhaban, Dhaka. Microsoft Bangladesh Country Manager, Sonia Bashir Kabir spoke about Microsoft products and how important it was to “embrace genuine” in enabling local innovation to flourish. She said, “We the people of Bangladesh are proud of who we are and are going to pave the way for the future of technology in our country. We have a big population and we will do what is right for us as individuals and for our country. Join us in embracing genuine – BE GENUINE, BUY GENUINE.”
Sonia Bashir Kabir requested the visitors to become ambassadors of the “Be Genuine, Buy Genuine” initiative. She also shared with them how Microsoft is transforming as a company.
She said, “Most people think Microsoft is just about Windows and Office, but we are much more than that. Microsoft is the productivity and Platform Company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more.”
Tech lovers from all over the country participated in the fun activities with Anti-Piracy Manager, Sharmin Chowdhury, and the other members of Microsoft Bangladesh team. This event was welcomed by all and Microsoft’s friendly approach was well received.
